ATNS - Air Traffic Navigation Services

ATNS - Air Traffic Navigation Services

ATNS has implemented waste management as part of the Company’s Strategy to ensure that sustainability is incorporated to the business practices. Due to the initiative being fairly new, brown bag sessions are necessary to educate and raise awareness about the significance of waste management. We have a Waste Management Policy that guides the Company when it comes to waste and therefore, as a means to encourage staff the recycled Company banners will be a way to demonstrate the 3 R’s principle and encourage making disposal the last resort as an effort towards the Company’s zero waste to landfill site approach.

The pencil bags will be distributed to staff members that are able to attend the brown bag sessions.

Upcycle were tasked to create pencil cases out of their old pull up banners. They are strong durable and have all the companies branding on it. These pencil bags are a very effective way of helping staff to see the value in waste and create a green waste conscious mind-set!

Dettol Soap packaging upcycled

dettol soap makeup bag

Upcycle has been commissioned to create awe-inspiring products and Dettol certainly was no exception.

You would think that bathing, showering and generally cleaning and cleansing yourself has no impact on the planet ... but you’re wrong. What about those wrappers your soap comes in ...

Upcycle created the most amazing toiletry bags using old Dettol soap wrappers. But we didn’t stop there, we also made the most handy little money pouches to attach to your key ring. These colourful and vibrant money pouches are great for small change, ready to tip your car guard, or pick up that loaf of bread on the way home. The nice thing about the money pouches is, you only need one Dettol soap wrapper to make it.

Upcycle jellyfish

jellyfish from waste
Upcycle created some really large jellyfish for "The Green home fair".

Who would have though making jellyfish could be so much fun! They have had their challenges but been great to be able to use so much waste and prevent it from ending up in landfill.

These jellyfish were used in Brooklyn mall for the "Green home fair".

So this is a picture of one of the little upcycled jellyfish that will be added to the bigger display. This one was made using and 5 liter water bottle, cutting the bottom off and using the plastic from the bottom to do the internal dangly bits. We then used some foam bubble wrap that was donated by a lady just moving into her new place.

Every part of the bottle is being used!

Take a look at the others we have created so far by following the read more link that follows.

Play conference

Play conference

As a research and development company focusing on creating employment from recycled materials and waste, we often get requests to do something specific for a client with a particular form of waste. This is what we do best. Throw us in the deep end and request a gift or product from your waste stream and you will be amazed at what we come up with!!

Cotlands play conference

We were asked by Cotlands to run a fun and interactive toy making activity for the delagates of the play conference held at The Randburg Towers from the 13th to the 15th of may.

Within 15 minutes we had grown up making the most fun and easy toys from waste!

Pikitup are rolling out separation at source throughout gauteng and wanted us to showcase our goods to the community to prove to them that Trash to treasure is viable.
