There is so much we can do with all the items that we normally throw away. With this project
we reduced our carbon footprint by turning an old 5l bottle into a garden. We have tons of
these gardens hanging on our back wall, and it is possible to grow almost anything in them,
making them ideal for those with limited space.

If you live in a flat, why not turn your patio into a hanging herb garden? We're growing
chillies, tomatoes, mint and basil in ours! Follow our easy step by step instructions and see
just how easy it is to make your own recycled hanging garden!

Upcycled Plastic Milk Bottle Flower Heart Project

milk bottle heart backgroundStep by step instructions showing how to make your own beautiful recycled milk bottle flower heart to be used for wedding decor.

With this project we collected plastic milk bottles which would have otherwise ended up in the
trash and eventually on a landfill site.
Some brands of milk use bottles that have very sticky labels that are hard to remove, and
others have bottles that have ridges up the sides. Look for the milk bottles that have labels
that are easy to remove and a large flat central section in the bottle, which is what we
primarily use in our recycling crafts.

Using pieces of discarded junk, Upcycle have recreated a unique, recycled mannequin lamp, bathed with its own previous character but with a new function. By blending South African craftsmanship, and Upcycle’s own eclectic fanatical flair, we have created an original end product with a new integrity that embodies the very best of South African design.

In this craft project we are going to use up some old serviettes and decoupage them onto a small mannequin a jewellery store threw away into a free standing lamp.
