Light bulb succulent potIdea for upcycled light bulb succulent planter

A simple yet visually effective planter crafted from an old incandescent light bulb.

The end cap of the bulb has been cut and sandblasted and an old shower flange added as a stand. The pot can also stand alone without the stand.

We have used marbles to hold the succulent but stones or a potting medium can also be used depending on the look want.

The pot is suitable for any slow growing succulent, cactus or water loving plant and is guaranteed to provide a peaceful feng shui to your environment, be it at your desk, dinner or coffee table.

Decanter light fittingUpcycled decanter ceiling mounted chandelier idea

This charming chandelier can be made by upcycling an antique decanter wine bottle.

By drilling a hole through the lid of the glass, the lid can also be used and completes the look - nothing goes to waste.

A cleverly crafted mishmash of the old and new, the glass is reminiscent of the Gatsby era while the CFL/LED light adds a modern edge to the fitting.

An additional hole is drilled at the bottom so the wire can be inserted from the top and the light fitting attached from the bottom end.

Upcycled idea, using unwanted wine and champagne bottles.

This chandelier, made from discarded wine bottles, has had the bottoms removed so that we could install the light fittings. This is just one example of what you can do to cut bottles and turning them into a useful, functional and attractive fitting.

The options of Upcycling waste are endless when we take the time to look at what we throw out, and look past the fact that this is a waste item. All too often all of us are guilty of just discarding waste that could very simply be turned into something awesome. Glass being what it is can be recycled over and over again, however the part that we all forget in the process of recycling glass is that it takes the same amount of energy to recycle it, as it does making virgin glass. The process can be more time and cost consuming due to the bottles requiring cleaning and sorting.
