We have made the most incredible items, one of the most popular being a glass tumbler. After cutting the bottle neck and part of the body to the desired height of our tumbler, a simple process, we then grind the glass and bevel the rim to ensure a smooth drinking surface. Once the glasses are done, with the use of a high detailed graphic vinyl cut out, or a multiple use steel stencil or a hand cut vinyl stencil, it can create the most incredible detail on the glass once sandblasted. This is an effective way to advertise your business by having your logo, mission statement, or a new product or offering sandblasted onto the tumbler. This is an awesome idea for restaurants, corporates, canteens or private use, especially when celebrating a special occasion, be it a birthday, wedding or an anniversary.
The top of the wine bottles can be used to create the most adorable tea-light candle holders or simple everyday candle holders; however, by adding the sandblasting, you can create some of the most marvellous decorative lights to brighten up your home, office, restaurant or any room.
Furthermore you can artistically sandblast wine bottles with imaginative designs and turn the bottles into the most remarkable chandeliers, or modest more functional light fittings. Sandblasting clear jars or bottles when making light fittings has a specific purpose, we all know the brightness of the globe shining through a clear glass is simply too bright. The sandblasting process eases the brightness and can also cast the most breath-taking light and shades.
The same applies to glass jars and containers, old Nescafe bottles, old Mayonnaise jars, any old glass container can be sandblasted and converted into new and improved, decorative containers for around the house, office or restaurant. Glass jars can be sandblasted and used as planters around the house or garden. Glass bottles can be cut and sandblasted into the most awesome vases. As you can see the ideas are limitless and with sandblasting, the creative effect on the glass is simply taken to a new level.
Upcycle consider it an innovative way to re-use old glass bottles, containers and jars and a personalised set of six tumblers as a gift would certainly impress. Make your wedding that much more memorable by having the Bride & Groom’s names sandblasted on all the glasses at the tables. Companies having conferences could have their logos on tumblers for use during their lunch breaks or drinks afterwards. Celebrate a 21st with decorative lights in the venue with the number 21 sandblasted on them.
The ideas are endless and Upcycle is equipped to create and sandblast all your glass needs. We can currently handle any item 40cm x 40cm. Our sandblasting setup is located at our offices; unfortunately our mobile sandblasting unit is in limbo somewhere.
